What to have ready

• Whether it's a rental or HOA property, if that applies
• Whether you can reach the main shutoff valve, in case the plumber needs to talk you through closing it

Hours

The line is answered any time, day or night, weekdays and weekends alike. For after-hours emergencies like a burst pipe or a sewage backup, we'll try to connect you with a plumber who takes night calls.

A slower issue, a tank that finally died or a drain that's been sluggish for a week, can usually wait until regular hours. Either way, the person who picks up will ask a few questions and point you in the right direction.

If it's the middle of the night and water is actively running somewhere it shouldn't be, find your main shutoff valve and turn it clockwise until it stops before you even pick up the phone. That alone can keep a bad situation from getting worse while you wait to hear back.
